Be a Participating Writer in The Hobart Festival of Women Writers 2019

In past years, organizers of The Hobart Festival of Women Writers have chosen Participating Writers through our own recommendations, as well as, from the recommendations of Festival Writers and Festival Participants. Since 2013, 58 diverse women writers have presented writing workshops, public readings, and other literary activities at the Festival. However, writers, publishers, and agents have approached us and asked that we open our selection process.

Beginning with Festival 2019 we have opened a submission process so that writers can apply to The Festival directly.

We encourage published Women Writers to send  —

by Monday, Nov. 5. 2018— to the Festival Planning Committee for consideration:

1. Five to 15 pages of unpublished, published, or online fiction, essay, memoir, poetry, or other forms of creative writing.
2. A current resumé.
3. A list of your published works of which one should be a published book.

This process is open only to Writers who have not participated in the Festival previously.
